Alabama Southern Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa honor society is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Miss Mockingbird Pageant. The Miss Mockingbird Pageant will be held on February 14th, 2015, at Nettles Auditorium located at Alabama Southern Community College. The pageant will start at 3:00 p.m. with Division 1 through Division 3, and immediately following for Division 4 through Division 6. The ages for the pageant range from five to twenty years old. The pageant will be set up into six different divisions:

*Will begin at 3 p.m.

• Division 1- Kindergarten and First Grade

• Division 2- Second Grade through Fourth Grade

• Division 3- Fifth Grade and Sixth Grade

*Will begin immediately after the younger divisions:

• Division 4- Seventh Grade through Ninth Grade

• Division 5- Tenth Grade through Twelfth Grade

• Division 6- College Students

The entry fee for each contestant is $25.00. The money must be turned in an envelope with the contestant’s name on it. Only cash and money orders will be accepted. Please fill out the last form of this application and turn it in with the entry fee. The money and application form are DUE February 3rd! There will also be a $5.00 admission fee for people attending the pageant. However, each contestant is asked to sell at least five discount tickets for $4.00 each before the pageant. Discount tickets can be picked up when you turn in your application, and the $20 for advance sales can be turned in before or the day of the pageant. Any unsold tickets must also be returned. More discount tickets are available upon request. We would love for you to be a part of this pageant and help support this organization.

Practice: We will meet the morning of the pageant (9 a.m.), in Nettles Auditorium, to practice how the pageant will proceed and what is expected of the contestant. At practice we will inform the contestants on the walk and what to do when being judged. We will try to get done with practice as quickly as possible so each contestant has plenty of time to get ready!

We will meet with the younger contestants first and then to the older contestants.

-Division 1 through Division 3 will meet at 9:00 a.m.

-Division 4 through Division 6 will meet at 10:00 a.m.

Judging: A panel of judges will judge each contestant. The girls will be judged on poise, appropriate dress, smile, and physical beauty.

Prizes: There will be a top three in each of the six divisions: a 2nd runner up, 1st runner up, and Queen will be picked.

Miss Photogenic: If the contestant would like to be considered for this portion of the pageant, please submit a 5x7 candid photo and an additional $10 with the application. One winner from Division 1-3 will receive a tiara and sash, and one winner from Division 4-6 will receive a tiara and sash. Entries must be in a manila envelope with contestant’s name and division and submitted with application.
