Alabama Southern offers the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Engineering Technology on our Thomasville Campus in two specific concentration areas
Instrumentation and Electronics Technology uses state-of-the-art equipment to offer in-depth study of measuring and controlling process variables. Students will learn using hardwired electrical controls, programmable logic controls, systems analysis, and other industrial applications. Students will gain hands-on experience by removing, calibrating, and reinstalling instrumentation and controls from many different industrial suppliers.
Electrical/ Industrial Technology prepares students for jobs as electricians in electrical construction trades and in industrial facilities such as paper mills and chemical plants. The program combines electrical theory with hands-on experience. The industrial technology portion of the program prepares students for careers as multi-crafted technicians. Students gain experience through projects that include repair, alteration and maintenance of equipment used in industrial complexes.
