Alabama Southern Scholarships

Alabama Southern offers several valuable scholarships for graduating seniors in our service area. All students who have received scholastic or leadership recognition are encouraged to apply. All scholarships have specific academic requirements, and some have special conditions to be met. Each student is eligible to accept only one scholarship.

Scholarship evaluation begins February 15. Scholarships are evaluated in the order in which they are received. To receive priority status students should apply for scholarships by December 1.

Scholarships Available Include:

Academic Scholarships:
President's - Minimum ACT composite score of 28 and grade point average of 90.
Pays $10,000 plus books.

Dean's - Minimum ACT composite score of 24 and grade point average of 85.
Pays $10,000.

Academic Excellence - Minimum ACT of 21 and grade point average of 80.
Pays $6,000.

Leadership Scholarship - Minimum grade point average of 80. Must be senior class president, SGA president, Distinguished Young Women winner, or yearbook editor. Required to submit a resume. Pays $2,500.


Selective Scholarships:
Ambassador Scholarship - Minimum grade point average of 80. Interview process. Pays $10,000.

Art Scholarship - Minimum grade point average of 80. Required to produce a portfolio of their work. Pays $10,000.

Music Scholarship - Minimum grade point average of 80. Required to audition with Music
Director.
Pays $10,000.

Technical Scholarship - Minimum grade point average of 80. Interview process. Areas in which you can get a technical scholarship: Cosmetology, Machine Tool Technology, Business
Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Instrumentation/Electronics and Paper and Chemical
Technology.
Pays $6,000.

Athletic Scholarships - Must contact Coach in regards to trying out/receiving an athletic
scholarship.
