ASCC’s Baptist Campus Ministries is sponsoring a “Spoons for Haiti” collection to help make a difference in the lives of children in Haiti.
From October 1 – 19, 2012, buckets will be placed in each building on the Monroeville campus for students, faculty, staff and the community to donate spoons. The spoons will be used by children in Haiti, who eat their entire meal in a bowl each day and often don’t have a spoon to use. Spoons are needed to keep the children from having to eat with their hands or borrow a spoon, which can lead to sickness and disease. All spoons are welcome, except for plastic.
Spoons will be shipped to New Missions of Haiti, the Christian organization that started this project, and then on to children in Haiti. For more information about New Missions of Haiti, visit www.spoonsforhaiti.com.
